Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has strengthened its position among the world’s leading container ports, rising to 21st globally from 28th in 2025, according to Alphaliner’s H1 2026 Review Report of the World’s Top 30 Container Ports.
JNPA recorded 13.6% growth in container throughput during the first half of 2026 compared with H1 2025, marking a significant improvement in its global ranking.
The latest performance highlights JNPA’s continued focus on operational efficiency, resilient port infrastructure and seamless cargo movement. The growth has been supported by the collective efforts of terminal operators, employees, stakeholders and the wider port community.
The improvement in global ranking further reinforces JNPA’s growing role in India’s container trade and its contribution to strengthening the country’s maritime and logistics ecosystem.
