DHL Express will increase its average shipment prices for US account holders by 5.9% from January 1, 2027, as the international express carrier implements its annual rate adjustment.

The company said the adjustment will apply to its general shipment pricing, while a limited number of services and surcharges will also be revised. The new rates will take effect at the start of 2027.

DHL Express reviews its prices annually, taking into account inflationary pressures, currency fluctuations and developments in industry-specific costs. The company operates across more than 220 countries and territories, with pricing adjustments varying according to local market conditions.

The carrier said the annual adjustment also supports continued investment in its international express network. These investments include fleet modernisation, digital capabilities, security infrastructure and sustainable logistics solutions.

For businesses using DHL Express for international shipments from the US, the 5.9% adjustment will increase the base cost of eligible shipments from January. The actual impact on individual shipments will depend on factors including service type, destination, shipment characteristics and applicable surcharges.

The company is also maintaining separate surcharge mechanisms that can affect shipping costs. DHL Express currently applies fuel surcharges that fluctuate according to jet fuel prices, while demand-related surcharges can also be introduced during periods of elevated shipment volumes.

The latest increase follows DHL Express’s annual pricing adjustments in the US in previous years. The company also announced a 5.9% average increase for US account holders for 2026, effective January 1, 2026.

The 2027 adjustment comes as express carriers continue to manage operating costs while investing in network capacity, technology and service reliability. For exporters, importers and e-commerce businesses, the higher DHL Express rates will be an additional factor to consider when planning international shipping budgets for the coming year.
