MUMBAI: Vivek R Kele, Founder and Director of ICTPL, has been elected President of the Container Freight Stations Association of India (CFSAI) at its 20th Annual General Meeting held at MCA, Mumbai, on September 24, 2026.
Kele, who operates Globicon CFS at Nhava Sheva, succeeds Suresh Kumar R, who recently moved on from Allcargo Logistics and relocated to Bengaluru. CFSAI acknowledged Suresh Kumar’s contribution and leadership during his tenure.
V. Padmanabhan and Capt. Nishit Joshi will continue as Senior Vice Presidents, while Percy Vapiwala will remain Vice President. Capt. Sunny Williams, Capt. Navjit Grewal and Bhaven Thacker will continue as members of the Managing Committee.
Capt. Alpesh Abhaay Sharma, Chief Operating Officer at JM Baxi, and Santosh Shetty of Conex CFS have joined the newly constituted Managing Committee.
Former President George Joseph has joined the Advisory Board along with Naresh Parekh, Adarsh Hegde and Admiral Anand Kalaskar.
CFSAI said its new leadership will continue engagement with industry stakeholders and regulatory authorities on issues affecting the CFS sector. Its three specialised committees—Logistics, Legal and Finance—will support the Managing Committee on operational, regulatory and financial matters.
CFSAI’s 48 member CFSs, primarily located at JNPA, Mundra, Hazira and Pipavav, collectively handled approximately 4.5 million TEUs of EXIM containers during 2025–26. Some members also operate CFS and ICD facilities at other locations across India.
