Global supply chain risk and performance management company Achilles has introduced Achilles Risk Screening, a new solution designed to help organisations identify supplier risks earlier and strengthen oversight across their extended supply chains.
The new capability provides businesses with continuous visibility into supplier risk exposure, enabling them to detect potential issues across large supplier networks and take targeted, cost-effective action before disruptions escalate.
As supply chains become increasingly global and complex, organisations face mounting challenges from geopolitical instability, cyber threats, financial uncertainty, sanctions, adverse media, and evolving environmental, social and governance (ESG) regulations. While critical suppliers are typically covered under due diligence programmes, a significant proportion of lower-tier or long-tail suppliers often remain unassessed, creating potential vulnerabilities.
Achilles Risk Screening addresses this gap by offering a scalable, automated intelligence layer that monitors large supplier populations without increasing operational workload. The platform combines verified data from Achilles’ global network—built over more than 35 years and encompassing over 900 buying organisations and 300,000 suppliers worldwide—with trusted third-party intelligence covering ESG performance, geopolitical and country risks, cybersecurity, financial health, adverse media, and sanctions screening.
The solution enables organisations to continuously monitor supplier risk beyond traditional procurement systems, helping procurement and risk management teams identify emerging threats early, prioritise assurance efforts, and reduce the financial and operational impact of supply chain disruptions.
Rather than replacing existing due diligence programmes, Achilles Risk Screening complements them by helping organisations identify suppliers that require deeper assessments, audits, or improvement programmes, allowing resources to be focused where they deliver the greatest value.
“Organisations are being asked to demonstrate greater control across their full supply chain, but supplier risk is increasingly dynamic and difficult to monitor consistently and cost-effectively at scale,” said Mark Chamberlain, Chief Product Officer at Achilles. “Achilles Risk Screening gives customers an early view of potential risk across their suppliers, allowing them to take action earlier, focus assurance effort where it matters most, and prevent small issues from becoming costly disruptions.”
With the launch of Achilles Risk Screening, the company aims to help organisations transition from reactive supplier monitoring to a more proactive, scalable, and resilient approach to supply chain risk management, improving governance while supporting business continuity in an increasingly uncertain global environment.
