Adani Logistics Ltd has leased a large warehousing facility in Panvel, near Mumbai, to Avenue Supermarts Ltd, the operator of the DMart retail chain, under a long-term agreement spanning 28 years.

The lease underscores the growing demand for modern warehousing and distribution infrastructure in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, driven by organised retail, e-commerce, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies seeking proximity to consumption centres.

Located in Panvel, a key logistics hub with access to the Mumbai–Pune Expressway, JNPT, and upcoming multimodal transport links, the facility is expected to serve as a major distribution centre supporting DMart’s supply chain across Maharashtra and neighbouring states.

For Adani Logistics, the long-term lease reinforces its strategy of expanding its logistics and warehousing portfolio through stable, annuity-style contracts with blue-chip customers. For DMart, the deal strengthens backend operations as the retailer continues to scale its store network and improve supply chain efficiency.

Industry analysts note that long-tenure leases such as this reflect increasing confidence among large retailers in India’s consumption growth and the critical role of integrated logistics infrastructure in controlling costs and ensuring faster replenishment.
