The government of Andhra Pradesh has announced plans to fast-track the development of connecting road infrastructure to the upcoming Bhogapuram International Airport, aiming to ensure seamless access ahead of its commissioning.

Officials stated that priority will be given to completing key road corridors linking the airport with major highways, urban centers, and industrial zones in the region. The move is intended to enhance passenger convenience and support efficient cargo movement once the airport becomes operational.

The project includes widening existing roads, constructing new link routes, and improving last-mile connectivity to reduce travel time and congestion. Authorities are also focusing on integrating the airport with broader multimodal transport networks to boost regional logistics capabilities.

The accelerated push comes as the state positions Bhogapuram as a major aviation and economic hub on India’s eastern coast. Improved connectivity is expected to attract investments, facilitate trade, and stimulate tourism in surrounding districts.

Industry observers note that timely completion of access infrastructure will be critical to maximising the airport’s potential, particularly in handling cargo and supporting export-oriented industries.

With construction progressing on multiple fronts, the state government is working to ensure that supporting infrastructure keeps pace, reinforcing its vision of building a modern, well-connected aviation gateway.
