Apeejay Shipping Limited has reinforced its liner service to Port Blair, underlining its commitment to maintaining reliable maritime connectivity with the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The company has deployed its multipurpose vessel MV APJ KARAN 2, designed to efficiently handle both project cargo and containerized shipments. The vessel offers a capacity of 228 TEUs, including 24 reefer plugs, enabling the transportation of temperature-sensitive cargo alongside general freight.

Equipped with twin Liebherr cranes with a lifting capacity of 69 metric tonnes each, the vessel ensures smooth and efficient cargo handling operations, enhancing turnaround time and operational flexibility.

Operating on the Kolkata–Port Blair–Kolkata route, the service continues to play a crucial role in supporting the supply chain to the island territories. The upcoming sailing schedule opens on April 3, 2026, and closes on April 7, 2026, with an estimated time of departure from Kolkata Dock Port (KPD) on April 8, 2026.

The continued deployment highlights Apeejay Shipping’s focus on strengthening coastal and island connectivity, ensuring dependable logistics support to one of India’s most strategically important regions.
