Arkas Line and EMES have expanded their SMS service by adding a call at the Port of Valencia, strengthening the service’s connectivity within the Mediterranean.
The addition of Valencia provides shippers with a new gateway for moving containerised cargo through one of Spain’s key Mediterranean ports. The call is expected to improve access to regional markets and provide additional options for importers and exporters using the service.
The move comes as carriers continue to adjust their network rotations to respond to changing cargo flows and customer requirements. Adding Valencia also gives the SMS service greater coverage in the western Mediterranean.
For shippers, the expanded rotation could offer more flexibility in routing cargo through Valencia and connecting with inland destinations across Spain and neighbouring European markets.
Arkas Line and EMES are expected to incorporate the Valencia call into the service’s regular rotation as part of the updated network. The revised port sequence and sailing schedule will determine transit times and available connections for customers.
The addition further strengthens Valencia’s role as a regional container shipping gateway, while giving the two carriers broader coverage across the Mediterranean trade network.
