Bothra Group has been awarded the WQ1 and WQ1 RE berths at Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) on an Operation, Maintenance & Management (OMM) basis, marking a significant milestone in the Group’s growing presence in India’s port and terminal operations sector.
The award strengthens Bothra Group’s portfolio in bulk cargo handling and reflects the confidence placed in its operational excellence, asset management capabilities and commitment to delivering efficient port services.
The two berths have a combined length of 376 metres, comprising 212 metres for WQ1 and 164 metres for WQ1 RE, with a permissible draft of 14.5 metres. This infrastructure enables the efficient handling of larger vessels and supports enhanced cargo movement through the port.
The facility is designed with a discharge capacity of 30,000 tonnes per day and an estimated annual cargo handling capacity of 4 million tonnes per annum (MMTPA).
The strategic addition further strengthens Bothra Group’s infrastructure footprint and its ability to provide reliable and world-class bulk cargo handling solutions. The development is also expected to contribute to the growing trade and logistics requirements of India’s eastern coast.
With the addition of the WQ1 and WQ1 RE berths, Bothra Group continues to expand its capabilities across port operations, terminal management and integrated logistics, reinforcing its role in India’s evolving maritime and cargo-handling ecosystem.
