CMA CGM and Ocean Network Express (ONE) will shift the German port call of their joint California Bridge/AL5 transatlantic service from Hamburg to Bremerhaven, with the change taking effect in September 2026. The move is aimed at optimising network coverage and improving operational efficiency.
The change will take effect with CMA CGM BLUE WHALE voyage 016W, which is scheduled to depart Southampton on September 15 and call at Bremerhaven on September 22. ONE markets the service as Transatlantic 5 (AL5), while CMA CGM operates it as California Bridge.
The revised rotation will be Southampton–Le Havre–Bremerhaven–Antwerp–Miami–Cartagena–Rodman–Los Angeles–Oakland–Rodman–Caucedo–Southampton.
The service deploys 10 vessels of around 5,000 TEUs, providing a direct North Europe–US West Coast connection through ports including Los Angeles and Oakland.
The shift from Hamburg to Bremerhaven represents a structural adjustment to the German port coverage of the service, with both carriers positioning the change as part of efforts to strengthen network efficiency and service quality.
