Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has delivered the 7,000-DWT ice-class vessel MS Maria to a German company, marking another addition to its portfolio of specialised vessels for international customers.
The vessel has been designed for operations in cold-weather and ice-prone waters, with its ice-class specification enabling it to operate under challenging maritime conditions. Its 7,000-deadweight-tonne capacity makes it suitable for carrying bulk and general cargo on international routes.
The delivery highlights CSL’s capabilities in constructing specialised commercial vessels and its growing participation in international shipbuilding markets. The company has undertaken projects for customers across Europe and other global regions.
The handover of MS Maria also reflects India’s efforts to strengthen its domestic shipbuilding industry and expand its presence in the global maritime sector.
