UK freight forwarding and logistics group Davies Turner has acquired a newly completed 130,000-square-foot logistics facility near London Heathrow Airport to serve as the new headquarters of Davies Turner Air Cargo. The investment is aimed at expanding operational capacity, improving efficiency and supporting the company’s long-term growth in the UK airfreight market.
Announced on October 21, 2026, the acquisition represents a significant investment in the company’s logistics infrastructure. The facility is located less than two miles from Heathrow’s cargo terminal and approximately 500 yards from Junction 14 of the M25 motorway, providing access to major road networks and international air cargo connections.
Expanded Warehousing and Operational Space
The new facility includes approximately 70,000 square feet of high-specification warehousing, with a clear internal height of 12.5 metres. Two mezzanine floors provide an additional 50,000 square feet of operational space, allowing the company to accommodate a wider range of cargo-handling and logistics activities.
The building also features five dock-loading doors, two level-access loading doors and 10,000 square feet of Grade A office accommodation. The layout is designed to support efficient cargo processing, warehouse operations and coordination between logistics teams.
Strengthening Heathrow Air Cargo Operations
The new headquarters will give Davies Turner Air Cargo additional capacity and operational flexibility at Heathrow, the UK’s principal international airfreight gateway. Its proximity to the airport’s cargo terminal is expected to support efficient coordination between air cargo movements, warehouse handling and onward distribution.
The investment forms part of the group’s long-term strategy to strengthen infrastructure, support customer demand and improve service delivery as supply chains become increasingly focused on reliability and speed.
James Wheatley, managing director of Davies Turner Air Cargo, described the acquisition as a major milestone and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the UK airfreight market.
Sustainability Features
The facility has achieved a BREEAM Excellent certification and an EPC A+ energy rating, reflecting its environmental performance and energy efficiency.
These features align with the logistics sector’s wider focus on reducing the environmental impact of warehouse operations while maintaining the capacity required to handle growing freight volumes.
Opening Planned for Later This Year
The building is currently being prepared for occupation, with an official opening scheduled for later in 2026.
Once operational, the new headquarters is expected to provide Davies Turner Air Cargo with a stronger platform for expanding its services, improving warehouse productivity and supporting customers moving goods through Heathrow.
The acquisition highlights continued investment in specialised logistics infrastructure around major international airports, where warehouse capacity, road connectivity and proximity to cargo terminals remain critical to airfreight performance.
