The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) has successfully completed the Non-Interlocking (NI) works at the GatiShakti Multimodal Cargo Terminal (GCT) at New Gulaothi, marking an important milestone in the terminal’s development. With the completion of the NI activities, interlocking operations at the location have now been fully restored.
The pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking works were executed as part of the ongoing development of the GatiShakti Multimodal Cargo Terminal and were carried out with meticulous planning to minimise operational disruption while maintaining the highest standards of safety and precision.
The successful completion of these critical activities clears a key operational requirement for the project and paves the way for the commissioning of GCT New Gulaothi, which is expected within the next three weeks.
Once operational, the terminal is anticipated to significantly strengthen last-mile connectivity, enhance freight handling efficiency, and enable smoother cargo movement for industries across the surrounding region, further supporting India’s multimodal logistics infrastructure under the GatiShakti initiative.
