DP World has announced plans to develop two new port terminals in Fujairah, reinforcing the emirate’s position as a strategic maritime and logistics hub in the Middle East. The project is expected to enhance cargo handling capacity, improve operational efficiency and support the region’s growing trade volumes.

The new terminals will be designed to accommodate a wide range of cargo, including containers, general cargo and breakbulk shipments. Equipped with modern infrastructure and advanced cargo-handling technologies, the facilities are expected to streamline port operations and reduce vessel turnaround times.

The investment aligns with DP World’s long-term strategy of expanding its global port and logistics network while strengthening supply chain connectivity across key international trade corridors. Fujairah’s strategic location outside the Strait of Hormuz makes it an important gateway for regional and global shipping, offering direct access to major east-west maritime routes.

In addition to increasing port capacity, the development is expected to generate economic benefits by attracting new shipping services, supporting industrial growth and creating employment opportunities. The project will also complement Fujairah’s existing logistics ecosystem and enhance multimodal connectivity across the UAE.

Once completed, the two terminals are expected to strengthen Fujairah’s competitiveness as a regional maritime hub while enabling DP World to meet rising customer demand for efficient, reliable and sustainable port services.
