Gandhidham, Sept 27: The Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Shri B. K. Mansukhani, a towering figure in the Indian shipping industry whose contributions shaped the growth of Kandla Port and the wider maritime sector.
In a statement, GCCI described Shri Mansukhani as a visionary leader, reformist, and philanthropist, whose pioneering ideas on port modernization and shipping process simplification were highly valued by both trade and the Port Administration. He was instrumental in promoting the adoption of modern technology and automation at Kandla Port, while also working tirelessly to resolve trade-related issues in coordination with the authorities.
A socially conscious industrialist, Shri Mansukhani was equally known for his contributions to education, social service, and philanthropy in the Kandla–Gandhidham region.
In 1997, he founded the Rishi Shipping Group Company, which, under his adventurous and innovative leadership, gained international recognition by setting new benchmarks in the shipping sector. Today, the company is being successfully led by his son, Shri Manoj Mansukhani, who continues to carry forward his father’s legacy.
GCCI noted that Shri Mansukhani played a significant role in strengthening import and export activities at Kandla Port, making his passing an irreparable loss not only to the region but to the entire Indian shipping fraternity.
On behalf of the trade and industry community, GCCI President Shri Mahesh Puj, Past President Shri Teja Kangad, Vice President Shri Deepak Parekh, Hon. Secretary Shri Mahesh Tirthani, Hon. Jt. Secretary Shri Jatin Agrawal, and Treasurer Shri Narendra Ramanie extended heartfelt condolences and paid rich tributes to his noble soul.
