    Gujarat Maritime University (GMU) hosted an enriching expert session on 02 February 2026, delivered by Ms. Danielle Datta, Senior Executive, IGP&I Secretariat, International Group of P&I Clubs. The session provided students and faculty with valuable insights into global maritime perspectives, contemporary maritime and P&I issues, and evolving industry practices, reinforcing GMU’s strong commitment to academic–industry collaboration.

    As part of the session, students from MBA 2024–26—Jatin Yadav, Tirth M. Bhatt, Om Kothari, Sheikh Khaleel Khan, Raj Choudhary, and Missbah Shaikh—and LLM 2025–26—Satyamsinh Dhavalsinh Rathod, B. Srinija, and Bhanusree J. S.—presented insightful case studies. Ms. Datta commended the students for their thorough preparation, analytical depth, and practical understanding, making the interaction highly engaging and inspiring.

    The visit concluded with a meeting between Ms. Datta and GMU leadership, including Prof. (Dr.) S. Shanthakumar, Provost; Prof. (Dr.) Tanuja Kaushik, Dean Academic Affairs; Dr. Abhay Singh, Director, SMLPA; and Dr. Dharmesh Raval, Director, SMM. Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration, knowledge sharing, and creating enhanced learning opportunities for future maritime professionals.
