Hutchison Ports Sohar has welcomed the maiden voyage of M/V MSC REEF, marking the launch of the new Shikra Service by MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company.

The new service establishes a direct maritime connection between Oman and China, while also providing links to key Asian markets, enhancing regional and global trade connectivity.

The maiden call reinforces Sohar Port’s position as a strategic logistics and transshipment hub in the Middle East, supporting the efficient movement of cargo between Asia and the Gulf region.

According to Hutchison Ports Sohar, the arrival of M/V MSC REEF underscores the port’s growing significance as a gateway for international commerce and reflects its continued commitment to expanding global shipping connectivity through new service offerings.

The launch of the Shikra Service is expected to provide greater supply chain efficiency, improved market access, and enhanced trade opportunities for customers across the region.
