On Japan Foundation Day, IceBattery® marked a major milestone with the launch of India’s first Net-Zero Rail & Land Cold Chain Platform in strategic partnership with Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), aligning with the Government of India’s Make in India manufacturing vision.

The initiative signals the beginning of India’s transition towards a diesel-free, climate-resilient, multimodal green cold chain ecosystem—designed to address long-standing structural gaps in temperature-controlled logistics.

    Addressing a Critical National Challenge

India incurs billions in annual losses due to post-harvest spoilage and cold chain inefficiencies. Temperature instability during transit, power disruptions, and infrastructure gaps remain key bottlenecks impacting agriculture, food processing, and pharmaceutical sectors.

IceBattery®’s Net-Zero Technology aims to address these challenges at scale with:

Uninterrupted temperature stability, even during power failures or transit delays

Up to 50% reduction in operating costs

    Zero-failure, high-reliability architecture

Significant reduction in food wastage and extended shelf life for perishables

ESG and Net-Zero compliance through renewable energy integration

Strengthened agricultural and pharmaceutical supply chains

    Full-Scale Multimodal Deployment

Engineered as a comprehensive national infrastructure platform, IceBattery® integrates seamlessly across:

ISO 20ft and 40ft rail and sea containers

    Rail corridors

    Road logistics networks

    Port and inland terminal ecosystems

    Stationary cold storage infrastructure

The platform creates a fully integrated Rail–Road–Sea cold chain network, positioning IceBattery® as a scalable national solution for sustainable temperature-controlled logistics.

    Leadership Voices at the Launch

The launch event featured keynote addresses by industry and government leaders, including:

Pankaj Garg, Founder & CEO, ITE

Tadamasa Ishida, Senior Advisor, ITE; former Chairman of Japan Freight Railway Company (JR Freight) and former SVP of Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line)

Shri Sanjay Swarup, Chairman & Managing Director, CONCOR

Katsuhiko Murayama, Former Director, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Japan) and DMICDC India

Takashi Suzuki, Representative, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO)

Shri Shailendra Singh, Former Director, Ministry of Railways, Government of India

Dr. Prabhat, Commissioner, Ministry of Agriculture & Horticulture, Government of India

Shri Sanjay Sharma, Director, Solar Energy Corporation of India

A Mantra of “KARMA × KAIZEN”

Framed around the philosophy of “KARMA (Intention × Action) × KAIZEN,” the initiative represents more than a product launch—it signals a structural shift toward resilient, renewable-powered logistics infrastructure.

With rising demand for sustainable supply chains and stricter ESG compliance standards, IceBattery®’s Net-Zero Rail & Land Cold Chain Platform could play a transformative role in reducing food wastage, strengthening farm-to-market connectivity, and enhancing India’s export competitiveness in temperature-sensitive commodities.

The collaboration between IceBattery® and CONCOR underscores a growing India–Japan partnership in green infrastructure, innovation, and sustainable logistics development.
