The Indian Institute of Logistics (IIL) marked a significant milestone with its 19th Graduation Ceremony held on 28 February 2026, celebrating the achievements of 93 graduates poised to enter India’s fast-evolving logistics and shipping sector.

The ceremony was a proud moment for the institution as students crossed the stage, ready to contribute to the nation’s expanding logistics ecosystem amid increasing global trade integration and multimodal growth.

The event was graced by two distinguished leaders from the maritime and logistics fraternity.

Chief Guest Dr. Ennarasu Karunesan, Regional Director – South Asia, International Association of Ports and Harbours, Tokyo, Japan, addressed the graduating class. His presence carried special significance, having inaugurated IIL in 2007 and returning in 2026 as the institution approaches its 20-year milestone — marking a symbolic full-circle moment in its journey of academic and industry excellence.

The gathering was also addressed by Captain R. Venkat, CEO of Tradex Shipping, Master Mariner and maritime legal expert. Drawing from decades of leadership experience across the Indian Navy and Merchant Navy, he encouraged graduates to lead with integrity, professionalism, and global perspective.

A special tribute was paid to IIL’s Founder, Adv (Capt) V J Pushpakumar, whose vision and perseverance have shaped the institution into a pioneering force in logistics education. Under his leadership, IIL has consistently strengthened industry-academia collaboration, expanded global outreach, and fostered innovation-driven learning.

The ceremony also celebrated academic distinction, with students securing University Gold Medals for the fourth consecutive year — underscoring the institution’s commitment to excellence in logistics and supply chain education.

As it steps into its 20th year, IIL reaffirmed its focus on expanding global pathways through partnerships including Kompaz Inc at Innovation City, UAE, while further strengthening international industry linkages.

Addressing the Class of 2026, the institution emphasized its mission to develop globally competent logistics leaders equipped to navigate evolving trade corridors, digital transformation, sustainability mandates, and supply chain resilience.

With its 20-year milestone on the horizon, the Indian Institute of Logistics continues to position itself as a catalyst in shaping the future of logistics education in India and beyond.
