Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), in collaboration with the Indian Maritime University (IMU) Navi Mumbai Campus, has launched the Entry Level Pilot Training (ELPT) Programme , further strengthening India’s maritime training ecosystem.

The programme, which commenced on 18th August 2025 with the first batch of 10 Marine Pilots from various Major Ports, leverages a state-of-the-art 360° Ship Handling Simulator — a first of its kind facility beyond Chennai.

The initiative was inaugurated at IMU Navi Mumbai by Mrs. Manisha Jadhav, GM (Admin) & Secretary, JNPA, along with Capt. Mihir Chandra, Director, IMU Navi Mumbai Campus.

With this milestone, JNPA reaffirms its commitment to enhancing pilotage skills and fostering highly trained professionals for the maritime sector, ensuring safer and more efficient navigation in Indian waters.
