In a move to redefine retail efficiency in South America, logistics titan Kuehne+Nagel and home décor leader Casaideas have announced a significant expansion of their long-standing partnership. The centerpiece of this growth is the inauguration of a state-of-the-art, 30,000 m² semi-automated distribution center designed to anchor Casaideas’ omnichannel strategy in Chile.

Building on a successful seven-year relationship, this new facility represents a major leap in operational capacity and technological integration for both companies.

    A Hub for Omnichannel Excellence

The new distribution center is specifically engineered to handle the complexities of modern retail, where the lines between physical stores and e-commerce continue to blur. Key highlights of the expansion include:

    • Semi-Automated Infrastructure: Implementation of advanced sorting and picking technologies to increase speed and accuracy.

    • Massive Throughput: The facility is optimized to manage the massive volumes Casaideas requires, coming off a record-breaking 2025 where 34.8 million inbound units were processed.

    • E-commerce Priority: With nearly 190,000 digital orders fulfilled annually, the hub features dedicated zones to streamline the “last mile” journey for online shoppers.

    Strengthening the Supply Chain

For Casaideas, the expansion ensures that their diverse product range—from furniture to kitchenware—remains readily available across their 40+ Chilean locations. For Kuehne+Nagel, the project reinforces their dominance in the contract logistics space within the LATAM region.

“This expansion is more than just added square footage; it’s about creating a responsive, tech-driven supply chain that can keep pace with consumer expectations,” says a Kuehne+Nagel spokesperson. “Our seven-year journey with Casaideas has reached a milestone that sets a new standard for retail logistics in Chile.”

    Sustainability and Growth

Beyond efficiency, the new hub aligns with modern ESG goals, utilizing energy-efficient lighting and waste management protocols. As Casaideas eyes further regional growth, this “logistics heart” in Santiago provides the scalable foundation needed to support their evolving business model.
