OOCL has launched a new South China–Laem Chabang container service, designated CHL7, strengthening connectivity between major Chinese ports and Thailand’s key container gateway.
The new service is designed to provide shippers with an additional direct shipping option for moving containerised cargo between South China and Laem Chabang. The service will support trade flows involving manufactured goods, consumer products, industrial materials and other regional cargo.
Laem Chabang is Thailand’s principal container port and an important hub for the country’s manufacturing and export industries. Improved connections with South China could provide businesses with greater flexibility in managing regional supply chains.
The CHL7 service also gives OOCL an opportunity to align vessel capacity with growing intra-Asia trade demand. Additional service options can help exporters and importers improve shipment planning and access reliable connections across key Asian markets.
The launch comes as container carriers continue to refine their intra-Asia networks in response to changing cargo flows and manufacturing patterns.
With the new CHL7 service, OOCL is strengthening its regional network and expanding its coverage between South China and Thailand.
