P&O Maritime Logistics (POML), a fully owned subsidiary of DP World, has completed its acquisition of a majority stake in NovaAlgoma Cement Carriers (NACC), a recognised global operator in pneumatic cement shipping.

With all regulatory approvals secured, the deal is now formally closed.

This move bolsters DP World’s footprint in the breakbulk and dry bulk cargo space, especially within infrastructure-focused supply chains.

By expanding into the cement logistics segment, DP World further enhances its end-to-end supply chain capabilities and broadens its services in key emerging markets.

NACC was established in 2016 as a joint venture between Nova Marine Holding and Algoma Central Corporation. It operates a modern fleet of specialised cement carriers serving infrastructure sectors in North America, Europe, the Mediterranean, South Asia, and the Caribbean.

The agreement does not include NACC’s joint venture operations in Northern Europe, Indonesia, and Greece.

Nova Marine Holding (Switzerland) and Algoma Central Corporation (Canada) will continue to hold a significant minority share.

NACC’s current operational leadership team will remain, while strategic oversight will now come from P&O Maritime Logistics.

Recently, China intensified its maritime dispute with the US by introducing reciprocal levies targeting the capital markets.

Last week, DP World partnered with Tashkent Invest, a subsidiary of the Tashkent City Administration, to develop and operate a new multimodal logistics terminal near Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
