Regional Container Lines (RCL) has placed an order for four new energy-efficient Bangkokmax container vessels, each with a capacity of approximately 1,900 TEU, as part of its fleet expansion and network enhancement strategy.
The newbuildings are expected to strengthen the density, flexibility and reliability of RCL’s core regional services across Asia. Their deployment will complement the company’s larger new vessels being developed to support its expanding mid-haul service network.
The latest investment reflects RCL’s strategy of building a more connected and efficient container shipping network, with Asia as its core hub while extending services into selected high-growth markets.
The addition of the 1,900 TEU vessels will also provide RCL with greater fleet flexibility and support its efforts to improve operational efficiency and environmental performance across its regional trade lanes.
