Samara Capital has agreed to acquire an undisclosed stake in Associated Road Carriers Ltd (ARC), one of India’s largest B2B road transportation companies, and Calyx Container Terminals Pvt Ltd, a licensed Container Freight Station serving Chennai Port. The two businesses will be integrated into a single logistics platform, subject to regulatory approvals, including prior CCI approval.
The transaction marks the first institutional investment in ARC, which was founded in 1972 and has grown to more than 600 branches, 20 hubs and coverage across 16,000+ pin codes. ARC operates an asset-light fleet model, deploying around 3,500 trucks daily, and serves over 100,000 active customers across FTL, PTL and project cargo.
Founded in 2006, Calyx operates a CFS about 20 km from Chennai Port, with annual handling capacity of around 75,000 TEUs, along with supply chain management and empty container yard services.
The combined businesses generated approximately ₹2,140 crore in revenue in FY2025–26. Samara plans to invest in network expansion, first- and last-mile capabilities, technology and data analytics, while pursuing selective acquisitions.
Samara said the investment will create an integrated platform covering both domestic and EXIM cargo movements, as India’s manufacturing growth and expanding trade flows drive demand for scaled logistics networks.
