The Chennai Angels (TCA), one of India’s leading angel investment networks, has announced an investment in LogiXair, a Hyderabad-based aerospace and logistics technology company developing automated hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft for middle-mile cargo transportation. The funding round also saw participation from the Kerala Angel Network and Lead Angels.

Founded by Bhanu Teja Chidura and Pulla Kapil, LogiXair is focused on addressing a key gap in India’s logistics ecosystem—the fast and reliable movement of cargo across routes of up to 600 km, particularly between metropolitan centres and Tier II and Tier III cities.

The company is developing a cargo aircraft platform designed to carry up to 300 kg over a range of 600 km. Its VTOL technology is intended to enable faster and infrastructure-independent cargo movement without relying on conventional road and rail networks or traditional airport infrastructure.

LogiXair is targeting applications across several sectors, including e-commerce, healthcare, manufacturing, defence, humanitarian relief and connectivity to remote regions.

As supply chains increasingly demand faster, more resilient and efficient transportation solutions, autonomous aerial logistics could offer an alternative for cargo movement in areas where conventional infrastructure is constrained.

The latest investment will support LogiXair’s product development and commercialisation efforts, including validation of key aircraft systems and the development of a scalable autonomous cargo aviation platform for India and international markets.

Commenting on the investment, Bhanu Teja Chidura, Founder of LogiXair, said the backing from The Chennai Angels would strengthen the company’s mission to build the next generation of short-haul aerial logistics infrastructure. The funding, he added, would help accelerate product development, validate critical aircraft systems and move the company closer to a scalable autonomous cargo aviation platform.

Ashish Mehta, Investment Director at The Chennai Angels, said LogiXair was taking a distinctive approach to autonomous hybrid-electric cargo VTOL aircraft for middle-mile logistics.

According to Mehta, the company has made strong technical progress toward full-scale flight while attracting commercial interest across multiple routes in India. He added that growing opportunities in both commercial logistics and defence could position LogiXair to play a significant role in the next generation of autonomous cargo aviation.

The investment comes as India’s logistics sector increasingly looks toward deep-tech, automation and alternative transportation platforms to improve connectivity, reduce transit times and strengthen supply-chain resilience.
