V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, Tuticorin, has recorded a strong 30.47% year-on-year growth in the handling of windmill blades cargo during April–December 2025–26, compared to the corresponding period of April–December 2024–25.

The robust performance underscores the Port’s enhanced cargo handling capabilities, specialised infrastructure, and operational efficiency in managing oversized and project cargo. With dedicated facilities and skilled handling expertise, the Port has emerged as a preferred gateway for renewable energy equipment, particularly wind energy components.

Port officials noted that the growth reflects increasing momentum in the renewable energy sector and the Port’s readiness to support large-scale infrastructure and clean energy projects. The achievement further strengthens V.O. Chidambaranar Port’s position as a key logistics hub for project and green energy cargo in southern India.

The continued focus on infrastructure upgrades and streamlined operations is expected to further boost the Port’s role in facilitating sustainable industrial growth and supporting India’s renewable energy ambitions.
