X-Press Feeders has launched its new North Colombia X-Press (NCX) service, strengthening maritime connectivity between Panama and Colombia’s strategic northern ports. The service is set to commence later this month and will operate with two 1,000-TEU vessels, offering enhanced frequency and reliability for shippers in the Caribbean and Latin America region.
Optimised Port Rotation
The NCX loop will connect key hubs with the following rotation: Colón (Manzanillo, Panama) – Cartagena – Santa Marta – Barranquilla – Cartagena – Colón, enabling smooth feeder connections for regional and international trade flows.
Strategic Collaboration
Container giant Maersk will purchase slots on this service and market them under its branded Cumbia Feeder route, further amplifying the commercial reach and utility of the NCX network.
Enhanced Trade Efficiency
The new feeder link is expected to:
Improve transit times between Panama and Colombia’s Atlantic coast
Strengthen transshipment capabilities at Colón
Offer shippers more flexible routing and scheduling options
Support cargo movement to and from inland Colombian markets
Strengthening Regional Presence
With the NCX service, X-Press Feeders continues to expand its footprint across Latin America, demonstrating its commitment to increasing feeder capacity and offering dependable regional connectivity.
The service launch comes at a time when shipping lines are prioritising agile routing solutions to counter capacity imbalances and support trade growth across emerging markets.
