YILPORT has placed an order for 53 E-Hybrid rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes from Konecranes, reinforcing its commitment to modernising terminal operations and advancing sustainability across its global port network. The investment is aimed at improving cargo handling efficiency while reducing the environmental impact of container terminal activities.

The E-Hybrid RTGs combine electric and diesel power technologies to deliver lower fuel consumption, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and improved energy efficiency compared with conventional diesel-powered equipment. The new cranes are expected to enhance operational performance while supporting YILPORT’s long-term decarbonisation strategy.

In addition to environmental benefits, the advanced RTGs are designed to improve container handling productivity, optimise terminal capacity, and reduce operating costs through greater energy efficiency and lower maintenance requirements. The deployment of modern equipment will also contribute to safer and more reliable port operations.

The order reflects the growing trend among global port operators to invest in low-emission cargo handling technologies as the maritime industry accelerates its transition toward greener operations. By expanding its fleet of hybrid equipment, YILPORT aims to strengthen service quality, improve operational resilience, and support the broader industry objective of building more sustainable and efficient container terminals.
