Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), one of India’s leading cargo-handling ports, has successfully inducted four state-of-the-art Harbour Mobile Cranes, having 100-ton capacity. DPA has been able to commission the HMCs, through Global open e-tendering. The cranes were inducted in cargo handling operations by Shri Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, Chairman of DPA, on March 21, 2025, at the cargo jetty area, port premises in Kandla, Gujarat.

Procured at the cost of Rs. 205 crores (including operation & maintenance for 5 years), these cranes mark a significant step towards sustainable and efficient port operations. The dual functionality ensures seamless cargo handling, reduced turnaround times, and optimized energy consumption, contributing to both operational flexibility and environmental sustainability.

This strategic enhancement is part of DPA’s broader efforts to decongest port operations, enhance productivity, and support India’s growing EXIM trade. The newly inducted cranes, just before the start of new financial year will play a pivotal role in handling a diverse range of cargo, further bolstering DPA’s position as a key driver of port-led industrialization.

Deendayal Port Authority remains steadfast in its mission to integrate cutting-edge technology and green initiatives, reinforcing its leadership in India’s maritime sector.
