Swissterminal AG has announced its full integration into DP World, marking a new phase of growth following a successful five-year partnership.

The move aims to enhance service offerings, improve efficiency, and expand access to global logistics networks while maintaining Swissterminal’s established brand and operations.

Swissterminal operates terminals in the Basel region of Switzerland and the Alsace region of France. These locations connect Switzerland, South Germany, and France with major European seaports, supporting a wide range of terminal handling, depot, warehousing, rail, and barge services.

Now fully part of DP World, Swissterminal plans to build on its existing services by leveraging the broader group’s international resources.

According to the company, this transition will deliver greater efficiency, expanded service offerings, and access to DP World’s extensive global logistics network.

Customers are expected to benefit from optimised transit times, increased modal options, and low-carbon transport alternatives.

The company stressed that its identity, values, and operational structure would remain intact, with the Swissterminal name, brand, and all delivery and billing addresses remaining unchanged to ensure a seamless transition for customers and partners.

As part of the leadership changes accompanying the integration, Matthias Dischinger has been appointed CEO of Swissterminal AG with immediate effect. Roman Mayer, who previously held the role, will continue to support the company as a board member and consultant. Tatiana Mayer will continue as Chief Commercial Officer, and Fabrice Marti remains Chief Financial Officer.

DP World has also committed to further investment in the region, targeting infrastructure upgrades and sustainable logistics initiatives in Switzerland and the tri-border area.

These investments aim to reinforce Swissterminal’s position as a key logistics hub for international container traffic.

DP World has recently received clearance for a £1 billion ($1.2 billion) project to expand London Gateway, making it the UK’s largest container port. The company claimed that the extension will take four years to construct, adding two further 400 metres-long all-electric berths and a second rail terminal in a key infrastructure project that will boost the UK’s trading capacity.
