Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd. on Tuesday bagged a contract worth ₹122.31 crore from the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Limited (MRVC) for the establishment of a Gas-Insulated Traction Substation within the bustling Mumbai Suburban Railway network.

The project features a 50 MVA transformer, marking it as the largest transformer ever integrated into a traction substation. As Mumbai’s railway caters to the demands of its rapidly growing urban population, this high-capacity infrastructure is expected to enhance efficiency and reliability.

“As a proud contributor to Make in India, Texmaco remains dedicated to delivering robust, scalable solutions that help shape India’s urban transport landscape into a world-class, self-sufficient system,” said Indrajit Mookerjee, Vice Chairman & Executive Director.

This contract will focus on indigenous manufacturing and technological innovation in railway electrification.
