CMA CGM Air Cargo, the air cargo arm of the CMA CGM Group, has taken delivery of a new Boeing 777 freighter.
The aircraft, registered as F-HMRO, is a brand-new Boeing production freighter. It arrived at Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport from the Boeing Everett factory on July 17, departing at 18:12 hrs and arriving at 12:31 hrs, with a flight time of 9 hours and 18 minutes, according to Flightradar24 data. The aircraft, MSN 68187, is powered by two GE90-115B engines.
The CMA CGM Air Cargo fleet currently includes a total of six aircraft, comprising now five Boeing 777 freighters and one Airbus A330-200 freighter.
Two Boeing 777 freighters are operated by Atlas Air, primarily on transpacific routes connecting Asia to North America. These two aircraft are registered as N760GT and N761GT.
While three Boeing 777 freighters and one Airbus A330-200 freighter, all France-registered, primarily serve CMA CGM’s hub at Paris–Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and operate routes between Europe and Greater China.
The cargo carrier also has eight Airbus A350 freighters on order. It initially placed an order for four, followed by an additional four announced in April last year. The aircraft are expected to join the airline’s fleet from 2027 onwards.
In April this year, the airline made a major move by acquiring the cargo operations of Air Belgium, following approval by the Brabant Wallon Commercial Court and the conclusion of an asset transfer agreement with the airline’s liquidator.
According to a recent report by Mobilithib, two sources have indicated that Air Belgium, a subsidiary of CMA CGM Air Cargo, will part ways with its two Airbus A330 freighters in the coming weeks. The airline is expected to operate exclusively with Boeing 747-8Fs going forward.
Data from Planespotters shows that the current fleet includes one A330F and two 747-8Fs, one of which is operating on behalf of China-based Hongyuan Group.
