MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company) has announced the launch of a new direct shipping service connecting South America to the Middle East, set to begin in October. This strategic route enhancement is aimed at improving transit times for refrigerated cargo, particularly fresh produce and perishables, bound for major destinations across the Persian Gulf.
A major highlight of the new service is the inclusion of Abu Dhabi as a central transshipment hub, significantly boosting connectivity and efficiency in the region. The direct link will offer faster transit times, with cargo reaching Abu Dhabi in less than 33 days—a substantial improvement over existing routes.
The new service underlines MSC’s commitment to expanding global trade routes and enhancing service for key sectors, including agri-food exports from South America. It also strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as a growing logistics and shipping gateway between East and West.
With this addition, MSC continues to build on its global network, offering reliable and time-sensitive shipping solutions for customers worldwide.
