In a significant step towards advancing digital excellence in the maritime and waterways sector, the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance institutional capacity and foster collaboration in key technology domains.

The MoU aims to extend mutual support in Cyber Security Management, Data Centre Operations, and Cloud Technologies, reinforcing efforts to build a secure, resilient, and future-ready digital ecosystem.

The agreement was formally signed by Shri Pavitra Aggarwal, Scientist-F, STPI Noida, and Col. Harsh Vardhan, Secretary, IWAI, marking a strategic partnership between the two institutions.

Through this collaboration, IWAI and STPI will work together to strengthen digital governance frameworks, upgrade cybersecurity practices, and leverage advanced cloud and data centre solutions to improve operational efficiency and safeguard critical infrastructure.

The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s broader vision of digital transformation and secure technological integration across key infrastructure sectors, including inland waterways, which play a vital role in enhancing multimodal logistics and sustainable transportation.

The partnership is expected to drive innovation, enhance digital resilience, and support the modernization of India’s inland waterways ecosystem.
