V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VoCPA) has marked a major stride in its green maritime journey by signing two key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during Singapore Maritime Week, reinforcing India’s push toward sustainable shipping.

In the first agreement, VoCPA partnered with DNV to develop port readiness certification for green fuel bunkering. This initiative will align the port with global benchmarks and strengthen India’s capabilities in adopting sustainable maritime practices.

The second MoU, signed with Aegis Vopak Terminals Ltd, focuses on establishing green fuel storage and bunkering infrastructure at the port. The collaboration aims to accelerate the transition to cleaner marine fuels and support the goals of India’s Maritime Vision 2030.

Both agreements were formalized by Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit, Chairperson of VoCPA, in the presence of Vijay Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India, along with senior representatives from partner organizations.

These strategic partnerships underline VOC Port’s commitment to advancing green shipping and positioning India as a competitive hub in the evolving global green maritime ecosystem.
