Clymet, a specialized logistics provider for the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors, has officially inaugurated its new operational office at the Dubai Flower Centre (DFC). The strategic move places the company at the heart of Dubai International Airport’s (DXB) air cargo infrastructure, aimed at streamlining the regional pharmaceutical supply chain.

The inauguration, held on April 22, 2026, was attended by high-ranking officials, including Dr. Ahmed Al Humeri (Director of Import & Export at the Emirates Drug Establishment), Mohammed Al Suwaidi (Director General of Air Cargo Customs at Dubai Customs), and Dr. Athari Khalfan (Head of Controlling Borders & Free Zones at EDE).

    Accelerating the Healthcare Supply Chain

By establishing a physical presence at the DFC, Clymet aims to facilitate closer coordination with regulatory bodies like the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) and Dubai Customs. This proximity is expected to significantly reduce operational bottlenecks for temperature-sensitive cargo, such as vaccines, biologics, and clinical trial materials.

“This initiative reflects Clymet’s commitment to driving collaboration and enabling faster, compliant movement of pharmaceuticals into the UAE,” said Thomas Paul, Managing Director of Clymet. “The Dubai Flower Centre provides the ideal temperature-controlled environment required to maintain the integrity of life-saving medicines.”

Key Features of the New Hub

The facility is designed to meet the rigorous demands of global healthcare standards, including GDP (Good Distribution Practices) and WHO guidelines.

    • Strategic Location: Direct airside access at Dubai International Airport ensures minimal “dwell time” on the tarmac.

    • Specialized Infrastructure: Automated sorting and bonded cold storage areas capable of handling high volumes of perishable and pharmaceutical goods.

    • Regulatory Synergy: Integrated e-clearance facilities to expedite documentation and compliance checks.

    Industry Dialogue on Compliance

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Clymet hosted an industry dialogue with stakeholders from Dubai Airports and major medical distributors. The discussion focused on upgrading regional infrastructure and addressing the evolving safety standards of the UAE’s healthcare market.

The expansion aligns with the UAE’s broader ambition to become a global hub for medical distribution, supported by the recently launched Holistic National Manufacturing Project, which seeks to localize and secure the nation’s medical supply chains.
