    The Ministry of Railways has appointed R Mohanraja as Secretary of the Railway Board, marking a significant addition to the leadership of Indian Railways at a time of accelerated transformation.

    A distinguished officer from the 1990 batch of the Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS), Mohanraja brings over three decades of extensive experience in administration and human resource management. Over the course of his career, he has held several key leadership roles, including Principal Chief Personnel Officer (PCPO) at Southern Railway and Integral Coach Factory. He has also served as Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Guntur Division and Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) of Chennai Division.

    His appointment comes at a crucial juncture as Indian Railways advances modernization, digitalization, and large-scale infrastructure expansion. With deep expertise in workforce management, policy coordination, and institutional administration, Mohanraja is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening governance frameworks and driving key reforms at the apex level.

    Industry body Rail Chamber expressed confidence that his leadership and domain knowledge will contribute meaningfully to enhancing organizational efficiency and shaping the future trajectory of Indian Railways.
