The Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) has submitted representations to Central Government authorities highlighting critical challenges impacting trade and exports in Kutch. GCCI President Shri Teja Kangad has urged timely action to improve ease of doing business and strengthen the region’s EXIM ecosystem.
Among the key demands are the establishment of an Assistant Drug Controller office at Gandhidham/Mundra to ease export clearances for pharma and cosmetic units, and relaxation of the EWC certificate requirement for salt exports from Mundra to ensure uniform compliance across ports.
GCCI has also requested setting up a GST–Customs Appellate Authority at Gandhidham to reduce costs and delays in dispute resolution, and modernization of the Revenue Laboratory at Kandla to speed up sample testing.
Hon. Secretary Shri Mahesh Tirthani stated that addressing these issues will boost exports, improve efficiency, and support industrial growth in Kutch.
