Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) is expanding its bio-LNG supply initiatives for car carrier operations in Europe as part of its efforts to reduce emissions and accelerate the transition toward cleaner maritime transport.

The expanded bio-LNG supply will support MOL’s vehicle carrier fleet by providing a lower-carbon fuel option that can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared with conventional marine fuels.

The move is part of MOL’s broader decarbonisation strategy, which focuses on adopting alternative fuels, improving vessel efficiency, and developing more sustainable shipping solutions across its global network.

MOL said the initiative will help strengthen environmentally responsible logistics services for the automotive sector while supporting customers seeking greener transportation options.

The expansion highlights the growing role of alternative fuels in the shipping industry as carriers work toward meeting emissions reduction targets and building more sustainable supply chains.
