India’s engineering goods exports increased 21% year-on-year to $11.48 billion in June 2026, driven by strong demand from key markets including China, the United States, Germany, and Oman, according to EEPC India.

Engineering exports remained resilient despite ongoing shipping disruptions in the Red Sea and the Strait of Hormuz, which have increased freight, insurance, and transit costs for global trade.

Exports to China surged 74% to $361.47 million during the month, while shipments to the United States, India’s largest export market for engineering goods, reached $1.95 billion. Exports to Oman more than quadrupled to nearly $259 million, helping offset declines in exports to the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

During the April–June quarter of FY2026-27, engineering goods exports grew 18.09% to $34.14 billion, compared with $28.91 billion in the corresponding period last year.

Engineering products accounted for 28.4% of India’s total merchandise exports in June, according to government quick estimates cited by EEPC India.

EEPC India Chairman Pankaj Chadha said engineering exports have remained above $10 billion for each of the first three months of the current fiscal year, reflecting the sector’s resilience despite geopolitical challenges. He emphasized the need for continued government support to sustain export growth amid emerging global risks.

EEPC India said exports expanded across most regions in June, with export growth also recorded to Turkey, reversing last year’s decline. Out of 34 engineering product categories, 27 registered year-on-year growth, while exports of lead and lead products, internal-combustion engines, cranes, lifts, and office equipment declined.
