Chennai Port has marked a significant milestone in India’s automotive export sector, handling 19,300 vehicles in a single month for export through its Ro-Ro gateway.

The achievement was recorded in partnership with Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), highlighting the role of efficient and reliable maritime infrastructure in connecting India’s automotive manufacturing base with global markets.

Chennai Port said the milestone reflects the strength of the wider automotive and logistics ecosystem and underscores the importance of future-ready port infrastructure in supporting India’s growing vehicle exports.

The port congratulated HMIL on the landmark achievement and said the partnership would continue to support India’s automotive export ambitions by enabling faster, more efficient and seamless movement of vehicles to international markets.

The record monthly volume further reinforces Chennai Port’s position as a key maritime gateway for India’s automotive exports.
