The Port of Drammen in Norway is joining the Portchain Connect network, with terminal operator Greenport Services adopting the platform to improve berth alignment with shipping lines.
Portchain Connect will provide Greenport Services with real-time vessel schedule and move-count updates directly from carrier systems. This will allow the terminal to respond more quickly to schedule changes and counterpropose berth windows to keep vessel plans aligned with terminal operations.
The platform replaces manual communication with digital data exchange and secure berthing information sharing, helping reduce delays in the planning process and improve schedule reliability.
The initiative is expected to strengthen coordination between Drammen Port, shipping lines and other supply-chain stakeholders, supporting more predictable vessel calls and more efficient port operations.
