India’s tyre exports rose 16% year-on-year to ₹7,700 crore in the first quarter of FY2026-27, maintaining strong growth despite geopolitical uncertainty, supply-chain disruptions and elevated input and logistics costs, according to the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ATMA).

The April-June performance builds on the industry’s record export value of ₹27,312 crore in FY2025-26, which was 9% higher than the previous year. Passenger Car Radial (PCR) tyres were a major contributor during Q1, with export value increasing 21% from a year earlier.

Europe emerged as a key growth market, with Indian tyre exports to the region rising 25% to ₹3,003 crore, accounting for nearly 40% of total exports during the quarter. The United States remained the largest individual destination, representing 16% of India’s total tyre export value.

ATMA Chairman Arun Mammen said the growth reflects increasing global acceptance of Indian-made tyres and continued investments by manufacturers in technology, capacity, product development and quality. Indian tyres are currently exported to more than 170 countries.

ATMA said improved market access through trade agreements and supportive export policies could help sustain the momentum and further strengthen India’s position as a global tyre manufacturing and export hub.
