The Northern India Steamer Agents’ Association (NISAA) convened its 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, bringing together representatives of member shipping lines to review the Association’s activities and key developments in the shipping and logistics sector during 2025–26.
Sasi Nair, President of NISAA, addressed the AGM and outlined the Association’s initiatives during the year, highlighting critical issues confronting the industry, including operational challenges at ICDs and ports, trade facilitation, infrastructure constraints, and the growing need for digitalisation of shipping services.
Nair reaffirmed NISAA’s commitment to serving as a common platform for shipping lines and representing members’ concerns before Government authorities, industry bodies and other stakeholders. He also acknowledged the continued support and contribution of the Association’s Executive Committee.
Shridhar Subramaniam, Secretary, NISAA, presented the Audited Balance Sheet, Auditor’s Report, and Profit & Loss Account for 2025–26, along with the proposed budget for 2026–27, which members subsequently approved.
Members also reviewed and confirmed the minutes of previous meetings and discussed various industry and member-related matters, including infrastructure bottlenecks, operational issues, trade facilitation and welfare concerns.
The formal AGM proceedings concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ravi Kant Chauhan, Vice President, NISAA, who thanked members for their participation and continued confidence in the Association.
NISAA Felicitates Manish Sharma
A special felicitation ceremony was held following the AGM to honour Manish Sharma, formerly with Hapag-Lloyd India, who retired in March 2026 after an extensive career in the shipping industry.
Recognising his longstanding contribution to the maritime and shipping fraternity, NISAA members conveyed their appreciation and best wishes to Sharma for a healthy and fulfilling post-retirement life.
Recalling his professional journey, Sharma shared experiences and milestones from his career and expressed gratitude to the NISAA fraternity and the wider shipping community for the cooperation, friendship and goodwill extended to him over the years.
The gathering concluded with cocktails and dinner, providing an opportunity for members and industry professionals to network and exchange views.
The 41st AGM reaffirmed NISAA’s role as a platform for collective industry dialogue in North India, with the Association continuing to focus on common operational challenges, trade facilitation and constructive engagement with stakeholders for the development of the shipping and logistics sector.
