Global logistics company DP World has extended its commitment to Indian golf, confirming that the DP World India Championship will continue until at least 2035. The announcement, made on October 18, 2026, following the conclusion of the tournament at Delhi Golf Club, reinforces the company’s long-term strategy to develop golf in India and strengthen the country’s presence on the international golfing calendar.
The DP World India Championship was launched in 2025 and is jointly sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). The 2026 edition featured a US$4 million prize fund, making it the most lucrative golf tournament ever held in Asia, according to reports. Spanish golfer Eugenio Chacarra won the tournament by two shots.
DP World’s expanded commitment builds on its existing partnerships with the DP World Tour and PGTI. The company aims to create stronger pathways for Indian professional golfers to compete internationally while supporting grassroots development and encouraging wider participation in the sport.
The championship also serves as a bridge between India’s domestic golf circuit and the international Race to Dubai competition, providing Indian players with opportunities to compete alongside leading global golfers on home soil.
Beyond professional tournaments, DP World intends to support the wider golf ecosystem by developing young talent, improving access to the sport and strengthening its long-term sustainability. The initiative aligns with the company’s broader presence in India across ports, logistics and supply-chain infrastructure.
The extension is expected to enhance India’s visibility as a destination for international sporting events and attract greater commercial interest in professional golf. By maintaining its long-term investment, DP World aims to help Indian golf build a stronger international profile and create more opportunities for future generations of players.
