CMA CGM has announced an increase in its Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) for the RoRo South service connecting France and Tunisia, with revised charges taking effect from November 1, 2026. The adjustment will apply to both import and export cargo following changes in bunker fuel prices.
The revised surcharges will increase costs for shipments involving rolling cargo, passenger vehicles and breakbulk goods transported on the route. Depending on the cargo category, the increases range from approximately 7% to 8%.
The updated BAF rates are as follows:
| Cargo category | Revised surcharge |
|---|---|
| Full rolling units | €775 per unit |
| Empty rolling units | €513 per unit |
| Other rolling equipment | €86 per linear metre |
| Passenger cars and minivans | €294 per unit |
| Breakbulk cargo | €47 per cubic metre |
The category for other rolling equipment includes trucks, agricultural machinery, earth-moving equipment and livestock trucks.
The latest revision follows an earlier surcharge adjustment that took effect on October 1, 2026. The increase reflects continued changes in fuel costs, which remain an important component of maritime transport expenses.
The revised charges will affect exporters, importers, vehicle shippers and logistics operators using the France–Tunisia RoRo corridor. Businesses are advised to account for the additional costs when preparing freight quotations and planning shipments from November onwards.
