Ocean Network Express (ONE) will return its MD1 and MS2 container shipping services, operated under the Premier Alliance, to the Red Sea and Suez Canal route from November 2026, following a review of regional security conditions.
The revised routings are expected to reduce transit times between Asia and the Mediterranean, with the services scheduled to resume Suez Canal transits on designated sailings.
According to a customer advisory dated October 22, the MD1 service will commence its revised rotation with the YM Trust, departing Ningbo, China, on November 10. The vessel is scheduled to arrive at Damietta Port in Egypt on December 7, 2026.
The revised MD1 rotation will cover Ningbo, Shanghai, Shekou and Singapore before calling at Sokhna Port and transiting the Suez Canal to Damietta. The vessel will then proceed to Istanbul, Izmit and Mersin before returning via Damietta and the canal towards Singapore and Kaohsiung.
Meanwhile, the MS2 service will begin its revised rotation with ONE Synergy, departing Qingdao, China, on November 16. The vessel is expected to arrive at Piraeus, Greece, on December 28.
The MS2 service connects major Asian ports, including Qingdao, Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Shekou and Singapore, with Mediterranean destinations such as Piraeus, Valencia, Barcelona, Genoa, La Spezia and Fos, before returning via the Suez Canal.
ONE said it will continue to closely monitor security developments in the Middle East and may modify vessel routings depending on evolving security and operational conditions.
The carrier added that sailing schedules and booking confirmations will be updated to reflect the revised routes, reiterating that the safety of crew members, vessels and customer cargo remains its top priority.
The planned resumption marks a potential step towards restoring shorter shipping connections between Asia and the Mediterranean, although the implementation of the revised routings remains subject to prevailing regional security conditions.
