The Kerala Steamer Agents Association (KSAA) felicitated Team Alteir Group and the stakeholders behind the arrival of Vizhinjam International Seaport’s first inbound import container, marking a significant milestone in the port’s journey towards becoming a gateway for Kerala’s international trade.

The historic first import shipment comprised a 40-foot container carrying Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) Boards, imported from Ningbo, China, by Team Alteir Group, a Thiruvananthapuram-based start-up founded by Gokul Suresh, Akshay M and Adarsh K S.

The container arrived aboard MSC Sabrina III, operated by global shipping line MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company), marking an important development in Vizhinjam’s expansion into import cargo handling.

BS2G Logistics & Ship Chandlers Pvt. Ltd., a women-led company managed by Gouri Devanand and Greeshma Devanand, acted as the forwarding agent for this landmark shipment to IN-TRV01 (Vizhinjam).

The initiative brings together a young Kerala-based importing enterprise, an international shipping line and a women-led logistics company, demonstrating the growing opportunities emerging from Vizhinjam’s global connectivity.

KSAA felicitated the importer and the associated team in recognition of their initiative and contribution towards bringing the first import container through the port.

The milestone is expected to encourage more importers and exporters to leverage Vizhinjam’s international connectivity, creating new business opportunities and strengthening Kerala’s trade and logistics ecosystem.
