Seaways Shipping and Logistics Ltd. (Seaways), broke its own record set in June, 2020 by loading 7728 MT (290 pcs) of HR steel coils in a day. As the vessel MV Indian Ocean offered 2 holds for loading, it gave an average gang output of 1288 MT per shift. This was achieved in a 24-hour period, on 31st January 2024. The parcel was loaded at EQ-3 berth at the Visakhapatnam port.

The exporter, Jindal Steel and Power Ltd, who have reposed their faith in Seaways as a reliable partner for decades, appreciated the quick turnaround of the vessel.

Commenting on this achievement, Capt Siddharth Shukla, Vice President, Bulk Cargo, Seaways said “Both Visakhapatnam port and Seaways Shipping are hungry for steel cargoes. Not long ago, Vizag port was the favourite gateway for exports among the steelmakers of Odisha and Jharkhand. With such efficient handling, low costs, and improved infrastructure, we are well positioned to reclaim that spot.”
